Lyrics: Faroese (English Below)
Og mánin græt
Brunnu undir rundum tungli
áttu einans nátt
lógu rúnabundin
drógu sama andadrátt
Ódnin vaks í tøgnini
seyg meg slúkandi og rá
Ein neistrandi eldur sløknaði
tá eg sá teg fjara frá
Og mánin græt
tá tú fórt avstað
Síggi teg í dreymadimmi
tó bara av og á
Hevur tú funnið tað tú vildi
frið í tíni sál
Og mánin græt
tá tú fórt avstað
Mánin sakk í hav
sakk í hav
sakk í hav
Í dýpinum dukar
mín káma lukka
drekkur meg tóma
letur meg vóna
Stari meg blinda
í tí eg vil finna
Veit eg má læra
lata tað fara
And The Moon Cried
Burning in a satin moon beam
all we had was night
tide-bound by its crystal charm
we held the same breath tight
Silence brewed a raging storm cloud
it swallowed me up raw
A blazing fire fizzled out
when I sensed your slow withdrawal
And the moon cried
when you said goodbye
In hazy dreams I glimpse your figure
what did you need to find?
Have you pieced the perfect picture
stilled your searching mind?
And the moon cried
when you said goodbye
The moon sank into the sea
sank into the sea
sank into the sea
The abyss pulses
with loneliness
I run on empty
faint echoes tempt me
I look for answers
in the same old dances
how do I know
when to let go
